Ms. McDaniel you mention that you are concerned about male pattern of baldness. When this type of thinning occurs in females it is called female pattern baldness which is a version of androgenetic alopecia due to hereditary hormonal factors.
However, this type of hair loss is not associated with pink, shiny areas of the scalp or spots where there is no hair. These are all signs of a medical condition being active on your scalp and the areas you describe as shiny can be a sign of atrophy which can be associated with scarring and cicatricial alopecia which can be permanent.
